Create a new ' task'

Creating a new task in AssetLog helps you plan and track inspections, preventive maintenance and follow-up actions on assets and locations. This ensures that work is scheduled in a structured way and that each task is linked to the correct project, building and asset for clear execution and reporting.

  1. Click “Assets”.
This opens the Assets section where you can navigate through the building structure to locate the exact asset.

  2. Click the relevant 'Building' (in this example: “Damstraat 1”).
Selecting the correct building ensures the task is linked to the right location in your asset hierarchy.

  1. Click the relevant 'Floor' (in this example: “1st-floor”).
Choosing the floor narrows the location so the task is placed at the proper level.

  2. Click the relevant 'Room' (in this example: “office-1”).
Selecting the room positions the task in the precise space for accurate tracking during work.

  3. Click the relevant 'Asset' (in this example: “Mobiele Airco”).
This links the task directly to the specific asset that requires the activity.

  4. Click “Actions”.
The Actions menu gives you access to task-related options for the selected asset.

  5. Click “Add Task”. This opens the form where you can define the new task details.

  6. Fill in the 'Name' field (in this example: “demo_onderhoud”).
A clear name makes the task easy to find in lists, notifications and reports.

  7. Add 'Replacement' information.
Checking “Is replacement task” marks the activity as one that involves replacing the asset when required.

  8. Add 'Repeat task at interval' information.
Setting the number, period type and number of periods automates recurring tasks such as periodic maintenance.

  9. Click “Save”.
This creates the task and attaches it to the selected asset.

  10. Confirm that a 'New Task' is added to an 'Asset'.
A green “Task added” banner appears, verifying that the task is now visible under the asset details and ready for use.
