Create a new 'asset'

Creating a new asset in AssetLog helps you register equipment and components at the correct building location. This makes it easier to manage inspections, maintenance and asset history throughout the lifecycle of each object.

Click “Assets”.
This opens the asset structure where you can add new items to a building, floor and room.

Click the relevant Building (in this example: “Damstraat 1”).
Selecting the correct building ensures the asset is linked to the right site.
Click the relevant Floor (in this example: “2nd-floor”).
Choosing the floor places the asset in the right level of the building structure.
Click the relevant Room (in this example: “office-3”).
Selecting the room makes the asset location precise and easier to find later.
Click “Actions”.
The Actions menu contains the option to create a new asset for the selected room.
Click “Asset”.
This opens the form for creating a new asset.
Fill in the “Search product” field.
Searching by product helps you quickly find the correct asset type from the catalog.
Search for the relevant Product (in this example: “veiligheidsdeur”).
Selecting the right product ensures the asset is created with the correct base definition.
Click the relevant Asset (in this example: “Veiligheidsdeur (Brand, inbraak-, kogel-, explosie werend)”)
This links the new asset to the exact product model you need.
If you do not enter an AssetLog ID, an Asset (QR) Code is created automatically and assigned to the asset.
The QR code gives each asset a unique identifier for scanning and on-site use.
Fill in the available New Asset information fields.
These fields store the details needed for registration, reporting and maintenance.
Click “Save”.
Saving creates the asset and stores it in the selected location.
Confirm that the Asset has been created and that the Asset (QR) Code has been assigned automatically.
This final check verifies that the asset is ready for inspection, tracking and follow-up tasks.
