Copy an 'Asset'

Copying an asset to one or more locations in AssetLog helps you roll out the same asset setup across multiple rooms quickly. AssetLog then automatically assigns QR codes, so each copied asset can be identified and scanned separately for inspections and maintenance.

1. Click “Assets”.
   This opens the asset structure where you can find the asset you want to copy.

2. Click the relevant Building (in this example: “Damstraat 1”).
   Opening the correct building ensures you copy the asset from the right location.

3. Click the relevant Floor (in this example: “general”).
   Selecting the floor narrows the structure to the right level of the building.

4. Click the relevant Room (in this example: “office-1”).
   Choosing the room helps you locate the exact asset you want to duplicate.

5. Click the Asset that you want to copy (in this example: “Noodverlichtingarmatuur 9EN-VMQ-UP6”).
   Selecting the source asset ensures the copied items keep the same base configuration.

6. Click “Actions”.
   The Actions menu contains the copy function for the selected asset.

7. Click “Copy Asset”.
   This opens the copy workflow for creating the same asset in other rooms.

8. Use the different levels above (Buildings, Floors and Rooms) as a filter for the rooms shown below.
   Filtering makes it easier to find the correct destination rooms, especially in large buildings.

9. Click a Building to show all rooms within that building.
   This helps you quickly narrow down where the asset should be copied.

10. Select all the Rooms to which you want the asset copied.
    Choosing multiple rooms allows you to duplicate the same asset across several locations at once.

11. If needed, adjust your room selection and select any additional rooms you want to include.
    Checking the destination list carefully prevents copying the asset to the wrong room.

12. Click “Copy”.
    This creates the asset in all selected rooms in one action.

13. Confirm that the asset has been copied and that Asset QR Codes were assigned automatically.
    Automatic QR assignment ensures each copied asset is ready for scanning, tracking and maintenance immediately.
